February is recognized as American Heart Month in the United States by American Heart Association. Join us for a hands-on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training class designed especially for older adults.
CPR is the technique of chest compressions (and sometimes rescue breaths) used when someone’s heart has stopped beating. An AED is a portable medical device that checks the heart’s rhythm and, if needed, delivers a shock to help restart the heart during sudden cardiac arrest.
Led by experienced instructor Phong Tran, this practical training will give you the confidence and skills to respond in a cardiac emergency. You’ll learn how to perform CPR and how to properly use an AED — a device that can dramatically improve survival during sudden cardiac arrest.
