Dr. Sarah McEwen
Cognitive Psychologist

Dr. Sarah McEwen is a Cognitive Psychologist with 15 years of clinical research experience (UCLA, UC San Diego). She was the Director of Research at the Providence/Saint John’s Health Center-Pacific Brain Health Center in Santa Monica, CA conducting multi-modal lifestyle intervention and precision medicine research in patients with cognitive decline. She is also the Co-Founder of Genius Gyms, a fitness tech company, and is a certified personal trainer. Dr. McEwen is currently responsible for developing Q4 Active’s specialized, 12-week brain health programs.

Annora Olavson, M.S.
Certified Functional Aging Specialist | Fitness Trainer

Annora Olavson, CFT, CSFN, CFAS is a Certified Functional Aging Specialist, a Certified Fitness Trainer and Specialist in Fitness Nutrition with the International Sports Sciences Association. With a Master of Science in Gerontology from USC Davis School of Gerontology she applies a deep inspiration for fitness and a passion for working with older adults to support active, healthy aging. Annora is the co-author of Q4 Active’s circuit training exercise programs.

Neurosurgeon

Neil A. Martin, MD, is a neurosurgeon at Pacific Neuroscience Institute (PNI) and Providence Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, CA. He is considered one of the leading skull base and neurovascular neurosurgeons in the U.S., having trained countless residents and fellows, overseen numerous clinical trials and NIH grants, and authored almost 300 peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Martin serves as our Chief Medical Advisor, overseeing all aspects of the Q4 Active approach to brain health.

Phil Swain

Phil Swain has well over 40 years of experience at every influential level ranging from General Manager to CEO and everything in between. Phil most recently served as CEO at YogaWorks, where he grew the company from nine studios to more than 50 studios across the United States. He also expanded the YogaWorks teacher training programs to a global level and spearheaded the development of MyYogaWorks Online. Prior to YogaWorks, Phil served as President at The Sports Club Company, where he oversaw the growth and operations of subsidiary brands such as Sports Club/LA, Reebok Sports Clubs, Spectrum Clubs, and Sports Connections.

Tony Berlant, M.S.
VP, Training & Development, and Co-Founder

Tony Berlant is a health and fitness industry veteran with more than 25 years of experience. He holds a B.A. degree in Psychology from UCLA, a M.S. degree in Exercise and Movement Science from University of Oregon—with a special focus on Sport and Exercise Psychology—and certifications as a Functional Aging Specialist, and a Brain Health Trainer. He’s held the positions of Corporate Director of Education for The Sports Club Company (i.e., Sports Club/LA), Education Coordinator for YogaWorks, Inc., and Director of Programs for Mad Dogg Athletics, Inc. Most recently, he served as the Director of Education and Programs for the MedFit Education Foundation.
