LECTURE: Allergies in Seniors - Stop Suffering, Start Breathing.

We will be discussing how allergies can affect us at all stages of life, including as seniors. We'll also address how different allergy medicines may affect us as we age, what the newest data on penicillin allergy suggests, and why it is important to discuss all of this with your doctor.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER: Dr. Samantha Swain is an allergist and immunologist who practices in Encino. She is board certified in allergy and immunology. She specializes in allergies (environmental, food, and drug allergies), asthma, eczema, and immune defects. She works with patients to optimize their health.

Dr. Swain received her medical degree from Temple University in Philadelphia. She completed her residency in internal medicine at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles, and a fellowship in allergy and clinical immunology at University of California Davis. She earned her undergraduate degree from University of California Berkeley, graduating magna cum laude.

Dr. Swain grew up in the San Fernando Valley and is happy to be back practicing in her hometown. When she's not in the office, Dr. Swain enjoys spending time with her husband and family, traveling, and hiking!

Dr. Swain is a member of the American Academy of Allergy Asthma & Immunology and the Los Angeles Society of Allergy, Asthma and Clinical Immunology.
